As I read your heartbreaking story all the memories of March 26, when Sandy had her Laparoscopy and confirmed Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. Much like John, Sandy went in for her annual exam on 2/27/03. When ask about any noticeable health changes, Sandy mentioned when she tries to sleep on her right side, it felt like she had pressure and needed to go to the bathroom, much like when she was pregnant for our daughter. The PA thought she felt something and order an Abdominal Ultrasound that afternoon. One thing led to another and the next words was "a mass on the Pancreases, most likely a cyst, maybe a benign tumor, small chance of being a malignant tumor at her age. She just had her 56th birthday the end of January. The rest is history as they say. My Sandy is still with me but time is running short. Today they wanted to admit her to the hospital but she wants to be able to have Christmas with the Grand Kids and said, wait until after Christmas. Oh Jen, I feel so heartbroken for you and your family. You probably already know this is absolutely the hardest cancer to defeat. Your family pictures look so happy and full of love and life. You and John and the kids will remain in my prayers. St. Peregrine, patron Saint for Cancer, is who we have been praying to for our Miracle. I pray that God will be there for you to keep you strong through out your journey and I pray that the journey will be kind and gentle for your John. God Bless you. Ed & Sandy
